Overview
Set against the sun-bleached grit of Los Angeles, Mike Davis is a meticulous lone-wolf jewel thief executing a string of high-end, bloodless heists along the iconic 101 freeway. Operating by a strict code to avoid violence and leave no trace, he has remained a ghost to the LAPD. Hoping to orchestrate the score of a lifetime and finally walk away, Mike sets his sights on a multi-million-dollar illicit diamond exchange.
However, his carefully laid plans begin to unravel when his unpredictable underworld fence, Money, brings in Ormon — a volatile, psychotic young biker whose chaotic methods threaten to destroy the entire operation.
Meanwhile, Mike forms a complicated alliance with Sharon Combs, a brilliant but disillusioned insurance broker who agrees to supply inside information on her wealthiest clients in exchange for a cut of the score and a chance to escape her unfulfilling life.
As the heist approaches, relentless LAPD Detective Lou Lubesnick begins closing in. Battling a deteriorating personal life and a skeptical department, Lou relies on sharp instincts to piece together a pattern everyone else missed.
